Experiential Learning & GACE

To summarize the influential work of David Kolb, Experiential Learning is a process initiated by an experience that demands reflection.  This reflection informs abstract thinking that draws conclusions on the experience which compels the learner to act or experiment based on what they learned.

GACE’s Experiential Learning Committee examines and responds to the needs of experiential based education programs in Georgia with a focus on career-related experiences integrated with post-secondary education.  In particular, the Committee focuses on Cooperative Education, Externships, Internships, Field Study, Practicums, Job Shadowing and Service-Learning Experiences.

GACE Members:  If you would like to share an experiential learning resource or include your company/institution as an example, contact Experiential Learning Committee Chair, Andrew Potter
