BOARD NOMINATIONS

The Nomination Committee is looking for strong candidates for the Board of Directors. Interested candidates may be nominated by a fellow colleague or self-nominated. 

The Nomination Committee will review all nominations and present a proposed slate of officers to the Board of Directors for approval prior to the Annual Business Meeting. GACE members participate in the election process by voting on the final slate of officers during the Annual Business Meeting at Conference.

If a position is unfilled at the time of presentation during the Annual Business Meeting, a request for nominations from the floor will be opened by the Nominations Committee Chair for GACE members to make recommendations to the board of directors.

Available Position

Board of Directors

Term of Office: 1 year (July 1 - June 30)

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  1. Attend all meetings of the board of directors.
  2. Represent the interests of members by providing input and feedback in discussions.
  3. Serve on committees of the board as assigned.


Committee Chair and Co-Chair

Term of Office: 1 year (July 1- June 30)

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  1. Attend all meetings of the board (can be divided between the chair and co-chair)
  2. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for elected position 
  3. Represent the interests of members by providing input and feedback in discussions

Criteria

Potential nominees must be active members in good standing at the time of their election & term in office.

Candidates are evaluated based on: 

  • Professional background
  • Past leadership experience 
  • Commitment to GACE’s mission, including involvement in committees and programs
  • Personal characteristics including communication skills and leadership style
