CREATING INTERACTIVE EXCEL DASHBOARDS
Kenji Terawaki, Business Intelligence Developer
Georgia Institute of Technology
Data, a small word with a big concept. Career Centers collect data from so many channels such as: Career Advising, Events, Job Postings, Applications, Experiential Learning, Exit Surveys, etc.
From vocational guidance to connecting communities, career centers have become a focal point of interest for all types of reports and data analytics.
Trends, Graphs, Percentages, Accumulative, and Aggregations might sound very intimidating to many representatives of a career center; however, this webinar will help you understand data collection, interpretation, validation, and how to create a story around these concepts.
Kenji Terawaki joined the Ga Tech Career Center staff in 2014 as an Employer Relations Specialist. While managing relationships with companies recruiting at the institute, Kenji was responsible for “On-Campus Recruiting” as well as facilitating the onboarding process for companies. Kenji collaborated with Alumni, Students, and Faculty to organize the “Campus Closet” for students in need of professional attire for interviews and career fairs.
Kenji showed from the beginning an interest in data collection and analytics from our CMS system, Symplicity, and other software. This interest fostered his push for the establishment of a position, Information Analyst, which he held for two years. This position has allowed him to speak at several symposiums and conferences about benefits of career centers using, interpreting, and promoting university career services data.
In 2019, Kenji was promoted to– Business Intelligence Developer - a role that would serve as a liaison between Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and the Office of Undergraduate Education.
Kenji also served for 3 years as a Board Member for HOLA (Ga Tech Hispanic Employee Organization), Board Member for STAR - Students' Temporary Assistance & Resources, and he serve as a V.P. of Colleges, Diversity & Inclusion Chair, and Director Board Member for GACE - Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers.
