Job Summary
Responsible for leadership, training, assistance, and supervision of division and college staff who develop divisional budgets and revenue planning (which includes annual budget preparation, preparing fiscal analysis, reporting, dashboards, development, and review of proformas and probable financial performance of growth/operational efficiencies initiatives), as well as who manage unit business operations including critical financial transactions and compliance processes. Assessing key performance measures. Serves as primary liaison between supervised staff and other departments and works collaboratively with stakeholders to build partnering relationships. Collaborates with other internal and external stakeholders providing guidance for best practices and identifying and developing process improvement.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews, tracks, maintains, analyzes, and updates a high volume of financial transactions in a timely fashion
2. Develops and provides effective on-boarding of new staff
3. Provides on-going training in best practices, compliance, customer-service and effective controls, and identifies and develops process improvements
4. Implements effective cross-training and back-ups across all units
5. Develops and improves post-award grant integration with division operations
6. Manages budgetary processes, guidelines and maintenance surrounding sponsored operations
7. Develops, facilitates, and manages business units¿ financial policies and procedures
8. Serves as primary director in business operations and liaison across university divisions
9. Develops analytical tools for staff to use with customer departments s including (but not limited to) reporting, financial models, and templates
10. Supports complex budget projects, analysis, data requests and financial transactions
11. Directs, manages and develops staff including workflow, quality of work and performance management
12. Responsible for monthly tracking and analysis of position vacancy lag
13. Develops and implements processes and guidelines that improve operational efficiencies for external and internal stakeholders
14. Develops and maintains training materials, procedures and processes in budget and business operations

Knowledge of governing rules and regulations as it relates to budget and financial processes

Knowledge of accounting principles

Critical thinking, analysis of financial data and trends
Leadership abilities to include but not limited to personnel development, coaching, goal setting and outcome measurement

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Information Systems, or related area
Required Experience
Five (5) years of related work experience involving finance, accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and/or financial information systems with at least four (4) years in a management capacity

Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
